One big issue most Foldscope users may face when observing larger organisms like insects is that you may end up squishing the poor thing. I was experimenting with new way of creating slide that allows insects to move when observing using the Foldscope.

I used Methylene Blue purchased from aquarium shop . I also sometimes use Iodine !! I would love to buy some proper stains only if someone can tell me where to get those in Mumbai !!

Pets in the bathroom ! Looks like found a great method to find rotifers. Take a toothpick and scrape some dirt gathered between tiles in a wet area. I did that and I saw lots of rotifers using Foldscope today !

Saw a white patch on a leaf. Decided to investigate using my foldscope .I was thinking it was some kind of fungus, but it seems these are insect eggs!!

Also saw pollen grains and (I believe) style.

The coolest ciliate I have seen with Foldscope so far. It has a really long antenna like thing using which it feels it’s surrounding ! Hope it’s clearly visible after upload else will share it on YouTube.

Saw some interesting things when observing an aquarium water sample using the Foldscope.

Not sure if these dead organisms came from fish food or they were born in the aquarium. Can someone please help to identify these !
